IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will get underway at Daytona

The first race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship is the legendary 24 Hours at Daytona in Florida, USA. Completed around a 3.5-mile circuit that incorporates the famous banked roads, Nascar oval, and infield course of the Daytona International Speedway, the race is one of the highlights of the North American endurance racing season.

The field will feature a GT field including the latest Porsche, Audi, Chevrolet, and Ferrari cars, while LMP2 and Daytona Prototype machines will be battling towards the front of the pack.

Daytona’s rich heritage attracts some of the greatest drivers of the generation. Recent winners have includes Simon Pagenaud, Hélio Castroneves, Scott Dixon, Fernando Alonso, Kamui Kobayashi, and Juan Pablo Montoya. Another star-studded grid is expected to line up for the 2023 race.

The enormous Speedway hosts up to 250,000 fans in grandstand seating for the main event, with activities to entertain fans throughout the weekend. Fans can also gain access to the garage areas to see the cars and drivers up close and personal between racing sessions and stints.

Motorsport Travel Destinations will have a selection of accommodation options for fans attending. The Aku Tiki Hotel is located on the world-famous Daytona Beach, while Homes2 Suites by Hilton is just a stone’s throw from the circuit.
