Hundreds of historic racing cars from the ‘20s to ‘80s race at the Nurburgring

The AvD Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nurburgring is one of the most traditional historic racing events in Europe. Taking part in August as a summer of classic racing ends, it’s a thrilling weekend of racing between sports car legends, GP fields, Endurance Legends, and single-seater Formula 1 cars from the past.

The cars take on the extraordinary Nurburgring Grand Prix circuit during a packed weekend of racing. The programme has included up to 13 categories of racing throughout the event including the DTM Classic Cup, Vintage Sports cars, and Racing, Sports Car, and Endurance Legends.

It will also be possible for spectators to drive the legendary Nordschleife on Friday for up to seven-and-a-half hours, allowing drivers to experience the ‘Green Hell’ for themselves.

Away from the circuit, the paddock is full of things to see and do between the racing sessions. Car displays, merchandise stalls, autograph sessions, and exhibitions are available all throughout the weekend.

Motorsport Travel Destinations is pleased to offer camping and hotel options to spectators attending the Oldtimer Grand Prix. The official campsite offers plenty of space and unallocated slots, a small shop, showers, and toilets, and is located just a ten-minute walk from the track.

For those driving to the event, the Sporthotel and Resort in Grafenwald is a short journey from the circuit. This traditional hotel is complete with spa facilities and activities to keep racing fans occupied during downtime away from the circuit.

All Motorsport Travel Destinations packages include return channel crossings from Dover to Calais and race weekend tickets for ultimate convenience.
