A grand garden party for classic car lovers

The biennial Chantilly Arts and Elegance is the great motoring garden party for car lovers. Hosted on the wonderful grounds of the Chateau Chantilly, the event showcases some of the most beautiful machines ever built.

The weekend features competitions including the “concourse d’Elegance” for modern supercars, “concourse d’Etat” for classic machinery, and the car clubs' “Grand Prix” contest attracting the best clubs from across the continent.

It’s not just about the cars, though. You’ll have the chance to tour the chateau and admire the paintings and art exhibits. The Musée Condé contains art collections considered some of France’s most important, including works by Fra Angelico, Raphael, and Nicola Poussin.

Activities during the weekend will include creative sculpture and fashion displays, workshops for flower arranging, make-up and hairdressing, jazz bands and string quartets, and picnic basket lunches. Available to all car club attended, who are asked to follow the smart-casual dress code for the Sunday’s proceedings.

A Friday morning Eurotunnel crossing is followed by a brisk 160-mile drive to the hotel, where dinner will be provided. Following breakfast on Saturday morning, guests are free to enjoy the town of Chantilly and the event itself. Alternatively, Paris is a short train journey away should you wish to visit the capital.

Following the festivities on Sunday, a short, leisurely drive to Calais readies you for the return transfer to the UK.
