Thomas Howarth, owner of the Horsepower Hunters online brand and a new Lamborghini, will be attending the Le Mans 24h in 2025

Petrolhead and collector of German cars, Thomas Howarth, will be on the ground with Motorsport Travel Destinations in Le Mans – and he’s bringing his Lamborghini Aventador along for the ride…

Tell us a little about yourself. Where are you from and what do you do?

My name is Thomas Howarth. I am an automotive photographer, influencer, content creator and all round petrolhead. I am from Cumbria, in the north of England, however, I now live in Buckinghamshire.

What might your followers not know about you?

I have a degree in Physics from UCL.

Will this be your first time at Le Mans?

This will be my second time at Le Mans and I can’t wait to be back!

Le Mans 24hr packages

What does the race at Le Mans mean to you?

My first experience of Le Mans was through video games like Gran Turismo and GRID. So I feel like that’s how I know the circuit, having done hundreds of laps virtually over the years. Playing it in games is what caused me to then take an interest in the 24h race, and as I’ve grown up the significance of the race and the cars has dawned on me more and more.

What are you most excited about in coming to Le Mans?

The atmosphere and anticipation all week long are like no other event. But the best part is when it’s hours into the race and all that now matters is what’s happening on the track.

Are you backing a specific team or driver this year?

I don’t have a specific favourite for this year yet, however, I would like to see Ferrari do well again.

What other races in motorsport have you attended recently?

Last year I attended a handful of F1 GP including Monaco, but my most recent motorsport experience was probably the Goodwood Revival at the end of 2024.

How did your journey in motorsport begin?

Other than video games as mentioned, my first proper taste (and smell) of motorsport was attending the Goodwood Festival of Speed when I was 14.

Any funny stories to share from attending motorsport events?

I am the proud owner of a Mercedes Benz CLK63 AMG Black Series, which is known for being based on the 2006 F1 Safety Car. The other thing it is known for is burning through tyres.

A couple of years ago I was attending one of my favourite car events of the year, Heveningham Concours, and the Silverstone GP on the same weekend. Heveningham has its own ‘donut area’ and I may have got a little bit carried away in my own car, causing the rear tyres to delaminate. The result was that I had to drive slowly to Silverstone and rather embarrassingly park at the circuit in this performance car with two skinny space saver wheels attached to the rear.

What made you start creating content?

I started creating content here and there in 2015, but I didn’t start doing it professionally until 2017.

What do you never travel without when attending races?

Most import of all is my phone to capture videos and snaps, and then a battery pack to keep it charged!

What can people who follow you expect to see?

Expect to see nonstop content of amazing cars doing cool things all around the world on my page.

Horsepower Hunters' Thomas Howarth to attend Le Mans 24hr

What car will you be driving to Le Mans?

I’m in the very fortunate position that I am spoiled for choice for which of my cars to bring. I am leaning towards my Lamborghini Aventador as I only just purchased it and am yet to take it on any kind of road trip. Also Lamborghini are racing again at Le Mans this year.

However, I would also like to bring my original V8 manual Audi R8 as the first concept for this car was called the Audi Le Mans and the car has strong ties to Le Mans. Finally, I could also bring my CLK Black Series mentioned above (with fresh tyres fitted).
