A wonderful weekend of motoring with like minded enthusiasts
The Mons Classic tour has been developed in conjunction with the Mons Tourist Office and the Wallonia Tourist Board. Join like-minded enthusiasts for a wonderful weekend of motoring, centred around the ‘Grand-Place’ in Mons.
The tour includes return Eurotunnel crossing, two-nights bed & breakfast at the fabulous Martin’s Dream Hotel in Mons, your road rally entry, your meal on Saturday night and free entry to Mahymobiles car collection.
Friday 06 October
Check-in for your morning Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. Drive East via Lille and Tournai to Mons where special parking permit has been reserved in the ‘Grand-Place’ of Mons.
Whilst the cars are presiding in the square under the watchful eye of security provided by the town, the tourist office will present your personal welcome pack and given a short introduction about the town and all that it has to offer.
You have two nights reserved at the four-star Martin’s Dream boutique hotel, a former chapel, situated just off the main square. When you are ready you can take your car to the private hotel car park and check in for your stay. This evening is free to enjoy one of the many restaurants on the square (8 min walk from your hotel).
Saturday 07 October
Today you have a rally route planned around the countryside of Wallonia. The road run includes points of interest such as the fascinating historical site of Hitler’s bunker and the pretty town of Chimay, famous for its ‘Trappist beers’. The attractive route will lead you back into Mons that afternoon. A traditional Belgian evening is planned at a local restaurant on the Grand-Place to sample the typical dishes of Mons.
Sunday 08 October
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast in the hotel before departing Mons. We have planned a coffee stop and visit to a fascinating car collection on route back to Calais, for the return Eurotunnel crossing of your choice.
