Discover stunning County Wicklow and its incredible scenery and roads
Wicklow is perhaps the most accessible of all Ireland’s counties and offers some of the country's true scenic treasures. The landscape features magnificent hills & mountains adjacent to sandy beaches, fast flowing rivers and glacial cut lakes. Our base to explore this area will be the 5-star Druids Glen Resort. Druids Glen is set in a secluded location between the mountains and the coast, and provides excellent facilities to relax after a long day driving through the Irish countryside.
Sunday 12 May
Depart Holyhead for Dublin on the Stena Line crossing to Dublin. From Dublin port, we drive South across the River Liffey, and out of Dublin. It is a short drive along the coast to Druids Glen. A welcome BBQ/buffet has been arranged at the hotel for the evening.
Monday 13 May
The Wicklow Mountains are on our doorstep and today’s road run takes us straight up and over the top of them. On the far side of the mountains lies Russborough House, an 18th century stately home, now home to a superior collection of art and other artefacts. The return drive to Druids Glen again crosses the mountains but via a different route.
Tuesday 14 May
To explore Wicklow’s picturesque coast this road run initially heads towards promenade at Bray before heading South visiting the hidden beach at Mahermore and the open sands of Brittas Bay. The drive then heads inland to Ireland's premier race circuit Mondello Park where we have made some special arrangements for the group.
