After a 58-year absence prior to 2023, Ferrari made it two in a row in 2024 as they pipped Toyota in a thrilling race dominated by wet conditions. It was a race that will live long in the memory for the Prancing Horse, but how will the Le Mans 24h 2025 teams and drivers match up?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All eyes are now on the 2025 race as 62 cars, 13 manufacturers and 186 drivers prepare to contest the most spectacular race of the year. British team Aston Martin’s exciting return<\/a> to the top class is sure to be one to keep an eye on, while Porsche and Toyota will be aiming to wrestle back some of the control they had in the late 2010’s and early 2020’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s take a look at the teams and drivers who will be gunning for glory in the 2025 edition of the world’s ultimate endurance race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HYPERCAR CLASS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Hypercar category cemented itself as one of the most exciting classes in motorsport, as no fewer than nine Hypercars finished on the lead lap in 2024. 21 cars make up an exceptional premier class entry this year, with factory cars from several world-renowned manufacturers, including Alpine, Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Peugeot, Porsche and Toyota.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fresh from two impressive wins in 2023 and 2024, Ferrari<\/strong> will field three 499Ps as they look to make it three in a row in 2025. Their 2024 winning trio, Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nelsen return in the #51 machine, while the sister #50 Ferrari lineup which triumphed in 2023, is unchanged too. Phil Hanson<\/strong> and Yifei Ye<\/strong> also join former F1 driver, Robert Kubica<\/strong>, in the #83 AF Corse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Toyota<\/strong> took their sixth WEC Manufacturers Championship in 2024 and will be looking to reclaim former Le Mans glory following Ferrari’s dominant couple of years. The two-time WEC championship winning trio of Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley <\/strong>and Ryo Hirakawa<\/strong> again take their seats in the #8 car. They are joined by an unchanged #7 car, driven by Nyck de Vries<\/strong>, Mike Conway<\/strong> and Kamui Kobayashi<\/strong>, which came second last time out. The #7 car will be donning a spectacular red livery that pays homage to to the marque\u2019s GT-One of the late 1990s, marking 40 years of Toyota at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cadillac <\/strong>will field four cars in the Hyperclass in 2025. A pair of Cadillac Hertz Team Jota V-Series.Rs will be joined by the Cadillac WTR and Cadillac Whelen invited from the IMSA SportsCar Championship. In the Hertz Team #12 machine will be the British pair of Will Stevens<\/strong> and Alex Lynn<\/strong>, along with Frenchman Norman Nato<\/strong>. In the other Hertz Team #38 car will be Le Mans native, S\u00e9bastien Bourdais<\/strong>, as well as 2009 Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button<\/a><\/strong> and Earl Bamber<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The #101 Cadillac WTR<\/strong> entry marks Wayne Taylor Racing\u2019s debut at Le Mans. Team owner Wayne Taylor, a 13-time Le Mans competitor, will field a car for his sons, Jordan and Ricky Taylor<\/strong>, who will team up at Le Sarthe for the first time after a combined 18 previous starts. Jack Aitken <\/strong>is the lead name in the #311 Cadillac Whelen<\/strong> entry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porsche <\/strong>will field an additional car in the Hyperclass category in 2025, with the #4 car joining the regular #5 and #6 machines. Michael Christensen<\/strong> and Julien Andlauer<\/strong> return in the #5 and K\u00e9vin Estre<\/strong> and Laurens Vanthoor<\/strong> return in the #6, with Felipe Nasr<\/strong>, Nick Tandy<\/strong> and Pascal Wehrlein<\/strong> announced as the #4 drivers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For French team Peugeot, Paul Di Resta<\/strong> moves from the #94 to the #93 machine, <\/strong>while seasoned veteran, Stoffel Vandoorne, <\/strong>again lines up in the #94 car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BMW<\/strong> return to the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans Hypercar category with a couple of BMW M Hybrid V8 entries. Kevin Magnussen<\/strong>, Raffaele Marciello<\/strong>, and Dries Vanthoor<\/strong> will pilot the #15 machine, while Robin Frijns<\/strong>, Ren\u00e9 Rast<\/strong>, and Sheldon van der Linde<\/strong> will share the #20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Le<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Aston Martin’s<\/strong> first appearance in the top class since 2011 is sure to attract attention. Their #007 will be driven by Harry Tincknell<\/strong>, Tom Gamble<\/strong>, and Ross Gunn<\/strong>, while Alex Riberas<\/strong>, Marco S\u00f8rensen<\/strong>, and Roman De Angelis<\/strong> race in the #009. Following extensive testing and a debut at the WEC season opener in Qatar, the team is aiming to be a strong contender in its comeback season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marking their second racing year in the Hyperclass, Alpine<\/strong> are gearing up for Le Mans with two Alpine A424 Hypercars. Paul-Loup Chatin<\/strong>, Ferdinand Habsburg<\/strong>, and Charles Milesi<\/strong> will pilot the #35 car, while Mick Schumacher<\/strong>, Jules Gounon<\/strong>, and Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Makowiecki<\/strong> will drive the #36 car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Proton<\/strong>‘s sole entry to the Hyperclass comes in the form of the #99 Porsche 963. Neel Jani<\/strong>, Nico Pino<\/strong>, and Nicol\u00e1s Varrone<\/strong> will drive it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LMP2 CLASS <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The fans’ favourite LMP2 class once again features at Le Mans in 2025, despite having been dropped from the full WEC calendar<\/a> in 2023. There 17 entries in this year’s category – one more than 2024 and comfortably above the long-assumed 15-car minimum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both seasoned endurance racers and emerging talents dominate the entry list for this year’s competition. Notable names include 2023 LMP2 class winner, Jakub \u015amiechowski<\/strong>, as well as endurance racing veterans, Fran\u00e7ois Perrodo<\/strong> and Renger van der Zande.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two-time W Series champion Jamie Chadwick<\/strong> will make her Le Mans debut with IDEC Sport<\/strong>, marking a major milestone in her transition to endurance racing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

LMGT3 CLASS<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the LMGT3 class entering its second year, all eyes will again be on seven-time MotoGP World Champion Valentino Rossi<\/strong> as he takes the wheel for Team WRT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other news, Eduardo Barrichello<\/strong>, son of former Formula 1 driver Rubens Barrichello, competes in the #10 machine of Racing Spirit of L\u00e9man.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, Marino Sato<\/strong>, a former Formula 2 driver, continues his sportscar journey with United Autosports.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
