The annual Goodwood Revival takes place at Goodwood Circuit, the historic racing circuit located in West Sussex, England. Considered as the greatest historic motor race meeting and the only sporting event of its kind, it is staged entirely in period theme and offers a great experience even for non-motorsport lovers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking place between 8-10 September 2023, it is a celebration of the “golden era” of motorsports, specifically the period between 1948 and 1966. Attendees can expect to see an incredible variety of historic race cars, including Grand Prix, Sports cars and motorcycles, as well as period-correct clothing and hairstyles, as its customary for visitors to attend dressed to the period. The circuit comes alive with the sound of engines revving and tires screeching, as drivers compete in a series of races that take place over the course of the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main attraction i<\/strong>s without doubt the racing action<\/strong>. Racing action takes place throughout the three-day event. Practice sessions and parades earlier in the weekend give way to racing as the weekend progresses. The most revered is the Royal Automobile Club TT Celebration race at Goodwood Revival is a recreation of the famous Tourist Trophy race that took place at Goodwood in the 1950s and 1960s. This race features some of the most iconic race cars from that era and is widely considered one of the most thrilling and competitive races of the weekend. Some of the well-known brands that can be seen on the track include Ferrari, Jaguar, Aston Martin and Maserati.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The race car paddock<\/strong> is packed full of the cars taking to the track across the weekend and is open to all. Allowing all visitors to get up close to the historic cars, and their teams, drivers and owners alike, and providing an opportunity to take pictures and to talk to those involved in keeping these historic vehicles operational for all to enjoy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the unique aspects of Goodwood Revival is the focus on period-correct dressing. Everywhere you look, you will find people dressed in period-correct clothing, with men in tweed suits and women in vintage dresses. The event organizers even have a \u201cbest dressed\u201d competition which takes place over the weekend and the winner is awarded with a special prize.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another thing that you can expect on your visit to the Goodwood Revival is the atmosphere. The whole event is designed to be a step back in time, and the attention to detail is impressive. With live music, vintage fashion shows and historic displays, there is always something to enjoy. The event takes you back to the 1950s and 60s, where the visitors can see, hear, and feel the atmosphere of the golden era of motorsports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the racing, there are also several other attractions that are worth checking out, one of the most popular is the Goodwood Aerodrome, which features multiple historic aircrafts on display, as well as air shows and flypasts.
